【摘要】:Hard-drawnsteelwireasusedinprestressingconcretepipemaybeexposedtoelementalhydrogenfavorabletohydrogeninducedembrittlementandcracking.Resistancetohydrogenembrittlementisnecessaryforprestressingwiretoprovidelong-termperformancetoinstalledpipe.ThelengthoftimethatastressedwirespecimenresistsfailurewhileexposedtoaheatedsolutionofNH4SCN,isanindicationofthespecimen’resistancetohydrogenembrittlement.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesprocedurestodeterminethehydrogenembrittlement(HE)resistanceofharddrawnsteelwireusedforprestressingconcretepipe.1.2HEresistanceisreportedastime-to-failureofspecimenstestedinalaboratory.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
